If selected for this position, you will support the Criminal Division Chief Assistant United States Attorney (AUSA) by providing a wide variety of technical and administrative support services. Duties include:
Editing written material for adherence with the supervisor's established policies, writing style, and previously expressed views, as well as for conformity with departmental and internal policies and correspondence procedures. Screening telephone calls and visitors desiring to speak with the supervisor. Controlling a calendar for appointments, meetings, engagements, and conferences. Reviewing all incoming and outgoing correspondence. Arranging travel, conferences and meetings. Responsibilities will increase and assignments will become more complex as your training and experience progress. GS-8:
To be eligible at the GS-8 level, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-7 level. Specialized experience is defined as experience providing comprehensive administrative support and procedural instructions; managing correspondence; composing correspondence and reports; reviewing outgoing correspondence; utilizing several types of software to generate working documents and forms; arranging travel and providing office automation advice, guidance, and assistance to staff. To be qualified, you must type at least 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors. (A typing test may later be required.)

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
