Assistant Inn Director
Job Description Shelburne Farms is a non-profit organization dedicated to educating for a sustainable future.
Its 1,400 acres are a working farm and National Historic Landmark.
The Inn is located on the shores of Lake Champlain with 24 guests rooms and numerous cottages.
The Inn houses one of Vermont's premier farm-to-table restaurants.
Our menu items are built around what's being harvested in our Market Garden or from area farms.
We produce our own farmhouse cheddar cheese and raise seasonal lamb, beef and pork.
Responsibilities include (but not limited to):
-Assist the Inn Director with improving management systems, including staff planning, hiring, training and supervision, monitoring operational performance, and enhancing the experience of guests at the Farm.
-Serve as the owner of HOST reservation system and coordinate training, updates and other logistics related to running the database properly.
-Oversee reservations, processing deposits and confirmation letters, gift certificates, check-in and check-out processes and maintaining accurate accounting systems.
-Monitor maintenance and cleanliness of guest rooms, public rooms, guest cottages and grounds near the Inn.
-Maintain and create training/procedural manuals for seasonal staff.
-Assist the Inn Director, B&G manager and Curator with seasonal opening and closing of the building.
-Assist the Inn Director with purchasing of guest room inventory and amenities, public and guest room materials and supplies.
