Lab Technician II - Geotechnical - Burlington

We are looking for a first shift (Monday-Friday 8am-4:30pm)Geotechnical Laboratory Technician for our Burlington, VT laboratory.
The Laboratory Technician II, using general laboratory methods, techniques, equipment, and instrumentation in compliance with TestAmerica's Quality Assurance programs and SOP's, supports laboratory operations through general maintenance of laboratory and supply storage areas, equipment, instruments, and supplies. Supports team as requested with problem solving, planning, process improvement and production as experience allows.
### Job Responsibilities
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
1. Retrieves samples from Sample Control for analysis.
2. Performs sample preparation which may include, but is not limited to, a combination of the following methods:
Aliquot samples
Spike and trace samples
Prepare reagents
Bottle samples
Prepare concentrations
Separation
Sonication
Liquid rack set up
3. Resolves discrepancies and anomalies to ensure samples are properly labeled.
4. Prepares general laboratory paperwork such as recording analysis results, tracking samples, bench sheets, and laboratory logbooks.
5. Washes laboratory glassware to prepare for next day's samples.
Secondary Duties
1. Stocks laboratory supplies.
2. Purges samples to be discarded and boxes samples to be stored.
3. Cleans work area(s) to maintain a safe working environment.
4. Assists other laboratory areas as needed.
### Job Requirements
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent
Experience:
High school chemistry coursework, one year basic laboratory experience. College chemistry coursework may substitute for experience.
Knowledge
