Company Description Circus Smirkus is an award-winning international youth circus founded in 1987 and described by The Boston Globe as one of New England s most treasured cultural and educational resources.
Based on a 38-acre parcel of land in Greensboro, Vermont, and nestled among the rolling hills of the Northeast Kingdom, the organization is dedicated to promoting the skills, culture, and traditions of the traveling circus and to inspiring youth to engage in life-changing adventures in the circus arts.

5 million Capital Campaign to construct a permanent, purpose-built summer camp facility, which will enable the project to be expanded to include 200 more campers each summer.
Job Description JOB SUMMARY Position Overview The Business Manager Responsibilities Financial Management and Oversight Develop the organization's budget, financial forecasts, and cash flow projections in conjunction with the Executive Director and other program and department heads.
Ensure that relevant and accurate financial data is presented at all times to the Executive Director, other program and department heads, and the Board of Directors, including reviewing and approving the preparation and finalization of monthly and annual financial reporting materials.
Establish and ensure compliance with all business and financial policies and accounting practices.
Act as liaison to the Board's Financial Committee.
Review all financial contracts relating to insurance, human resources, information technology, and Circus Smirkus' three major programs.
Human Resources and Administrative Management Manage and oversee Circus Smirkus' human resource functions, such as recruitment and hiring, compensation, performance appraisal, and staff development.
Oversee risk management and legal activities, such as letters of agreement, contracts, leases, and other legal documents and agreements.
Negotiate with vendors and/or consultants and procure, monitor, and manage business services.
Work with the Office Manager to plan, manage, and oversee the Greensboro facility site maintenance, repair, and construction, including all buildings, the phone system, security aspects, cleaning services, and so on.
Information Technology Management Work with the organization's managers and consultants to ensure the on-going maintenance of information systems and infrastructure, including hardware, software, policies, and procedures.
Additional Responsibilities As part of Circus Smirkus' senior management team, work with other department heads and consultants to analyze existing systems and processes, determine unmet needs, and design and implement improvements.
As required, fill in for the Executive Director in his/her absence.
Qualifications a minimum of five years of accounting, finance or business management experience.
a Bachelor's degree, preferably in Business, Accounting, Management, or Finance preferred; an advanced degree is a plus.
a minimum of three years of senior management experience.
demonstrated success developing and monitoring financial and administrative systems to create efficiencies and maximize profitability.
experience managing an organization's human resources and information technology functions.
an understanding of inventory management and purchasing, and preferably some experience with construction.
excellent people skills and experience collaborating with a diverse and dynamic team.
the ability to set priorities and multi-task while also being highly detail-oriented.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
