Job Description This position is responsible for the accurate and timely completion of plan administrative services for assigned groups of high profile and/or most complex clients. This position maintains a client base, through a high level of service, ensuring that all assigned plan activity and maintenance is accurately and properly processed adhering to all laws, regulations, policies and procedures. In addition, this position maintains specialized knowledge of the IRS/DOL requirements to properly administer retirement plans.
Prepares plan valuation, employee benefits statements, new participant and termination packets and 5500 forms, consistent with the plan valuation checklist. Determines employee eligibility for plan and for contributions. Monitors all plan testing including ADP/ACP tests, nondiscrimination testing for coverage, compensation, benefits and contributions, and top-heavy plan status. Provides written and verbal communications relative to the administration process to client base.
Maintains accurate listing of assigned clients and the timing of services to be provided to those clients, including dates for new participant forms, update forms, pre-anniversary questionnaires, valuations and 5500 reporting forms. Ensures timely transmission of all required forms to clients and consistent follow-up with the client regarding information needed.
Maintains specialized knowledge of IRS and DOL requirements. Stays up to date on changes to laws and regulations and the impact managed products and services
Utilizes specialized knowledge to consult with clients regarding all aspects of the plan administration process. Provides advice and guidance to clients on a wide range of issues and technical support needs.
Maintains billing records and organized client files, and prioritizes workload to ensure all required deadlines are consistently met.
Acts as a resource to Pension Analysts. Assists manager with day to day operational activities and special projects.
Job Requirements College degree or equivalent work experience required.
5-8 years relevant experience.
Extensive experience in qualified plan administration services, and related IRS/DOL requirements.
Strong accounting and math skills.
Ability to utilize expertise and all available resources to offer effective solutions to highly complex retirement services issues.
Ability to work with a team and share specialized knowledge and skills.
Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills are needed to convey complex information in a clear, concise and effective manner to a wide range of clients and employees.
Strong organizational skills. Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
Ability to work independently, handling high volumes of work and complex client issues within time constraints.
Strong PC skills including word processing, spreadsheets, presentation, internet and industry specific programs/systems such as pension valuation systems.
