The Analyst III prepares and analyzes environmental samples according to
scientific and EPA methodology in compliance with TestAmerica's Quality Assurance programs and
standard operating procedures Must be knowledgeable of both routine and complex analyses. Validates and reviews data for
accuracy through Level I and II reviews. Uploads laboratory data into reporting system to generate
data packages for delivery to clients. Schedules sample workload according to due dates and sample
hold times. Must be knowledgeable of a broad range of laboratory testing equipment requiring the exercise of discretion and judgement in its operation.
### Job Responsibilities
1. Performs laboratory procedures requiring advanced knowledge of scientific methods and testing procedures including:
Scheduling priority of samples to be analyzed to meet deadlines and maintain sample integrity
Batching and prepping samples for analysis according to special and varied client and QA requirements
Preparing reagents for sample analysis
Preparing aliquots extracted samples to maximize laboratory productivity
Preparing appropriate standards to ensure compliant data
Determining appropriate analysis methods for a wide variety of organic and inorganic samples
using both routine and complex matrices
Operating, calibrating, and maintaining laboratory instruments
2. Uploads data into reporting system to provide Reporting Department with the necessary
information to produce data packages
3. Performs Level I review of data to ensure compliance with scientific methods and SOPs
4. Performs Level II review of data to finalize data for internal and external clients
5. Maintains records of finalized data
6. Performs job functions according to TestAmerica health and safety, and QA
standards
7. Maintains housekeeping standards for work area
### Job Requirements
Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry or related field. 8 years laboratory experience may substitute for
degree.
Experience:
Minimum 4 years experience with laboratory procedures, including routine and complex matrices, preferably in a production environment
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of scientific methods and method compliance
Knowledge of analytical and/or general science
Strong mathematical aptitude
Knowledge of laboratory safety rules and chemical hazards
Skill in operating computers and laboratory software
Advanced knowledge of general laboratory procedures
