Summary:
The Cost Accountant will report to the VP of Cost. The successful candidate must ensure costs are captured accurately as incurred at each stage of production. The Cost Accountant will also participate, understand and explain all plant spending & variances, and act as a financial resource to Plant Management.
Duties &
Responsibilities: Participates, understand & explain all plant spending. Generates, analyzes and presents spending and production measurement summaries. Identifies reviews and explains manufacturing variances. Participates with the monthly inventory and sales close process. Calculates monthly standard cost of production for plant site. Participates with cost-related journal entries. Participates with others to reconcile the Cost / Production / Inventory system to the balance sheet. Audits internal controls at plant level. Identifies areas of cost reduction & control. Conducts cost studies and prepare & present findings and recommendations. Guides future production changes, such as expansion, reductions, efficiencies or impact. Participates with Operations in conducting capital investment analysis.
Required Knowledge/Experience/Skills: 5
years of related experience. BA/BS degree in Business, Accounting or required field. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Advanced understanding of accounting concepts. Occasional travel to other company sites as needed.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
