# Job Description
Assist in trouble shooting of database issues with regards to MS-SQL and / or Oracle
Resolve database issues such as performance, capacity issues, backup/restore, access, etc.
On-call support for production issues
Independently troubleshoot and provide assistance to end users
Tracking of system availability / usage patterns
Execution of DBA requests in Development, QA and Production without issues
Independently troubleshoot and provide assistance to end users regarding DBA requests
Assist in development of DBA scripts within the Microsoft and / or Unix operating system
Develop custom scripts to run against the database for various purposes
Assist in developing, coordinating, and implementing DB server upgrades, patches, etc.
Design database maintenance and upgrade processes and provide incident / problem management support.
Administer and maintain the security and integrity of the databases.
Assist in the update and maintenance of DBA standard documents
# Job Requirements
Technical Requirement
Knowledge in implementation, backup, restore and disaster recovery planning of one or more of the following databases: Sybase, MS SQL server, or Oracle.
A minimum of 5
years of experience working as a Database Administrator
Experience working with Windows operating system, including Active Directory and proper disk configurations.
Experience working with Unix operating system would be preferred.
Organization Requirement
Ability to work independently and work on multiple projects simultaneously
Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks
Ability to self-direct
Ability and willingness to support a 24/7 production environment
Strong organizational skills
Strong attention to detail
