The Manager of Inventory Control will support the Assistant Controller :
Merchandise in the overall daily operations of the Inventory Control Department, including maintaining accuracy of stock ledger data, its updates and all related controls, ensuring the timely and accurate completion of the monthly financial close responsibilities, assist Loss Prevention and Store Operations in coordination of physical inventories across the organization's warehouses and stores, coordination with internal and external auditors for periodic reviews and SOX compliance, support all corporate, store and DC inventory flows and initiatives.
The Manager will also oversee the preparation of client assistance deliverables for quarterly and annual financial statement audits, as well as in other special projects.
This role will require heavy interfaces with Business Units, Finance and Supply Chain and Merchandise Departments.
Ensure completeness and accuracy of inventory transactions for stores, DC's and fulfillment operations (includes sales, markdowns, transfers, claims, receipts, shipments, and adjustments) - Oversight for timely and accurate financial close responsibilities, including inventory valuation, margin analysis, three way match reconciliation and recording of inventory transfers and receipts - Ensure compliance with existing and develop/docu Source:

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
