org/job-opportunities The Educator will be responsible for teaching outdoor programs, developing camp activities, and working effectively as part of a dynamic camp team.
Audubon will challenge you to enhance your teaching and mentoring skills while encouraging you to share the wonder of exploring the most magical places at Audubon.
Camp runs for 7 weeks, including a week of evening camp and a single overnight on the night of July 2, 2014.
This is a full-time, seasonal opportunity with an estimated 37.
5 hour work week.
Camp Schedule:
Training Week:
June 16-20, 2014 Camp:
June 23-July 18 & July 28-August 15, 2014 (7 weeks; no camp the week of July 21-25) -Week of June 30 includes an overnight Wednesday July 2 to Thursday July 3; no camp on July 4th -Week of July 14-18 is an evening camp.

Essential Functions:
-Attend a camp training week led by professional Audubon Teacher/Naturalists.
-Develop and implement seven weeks of nature-based camp activities.
-Act as a mentor to high school counselors-in-training.
-Write a final evaluation of your camp experience by August 15.
Qualifications and
Experience:
-Experience developing and leading outdoor activities, as well as working with children ages 6 to 12.
-Demonstrated knowledge of Vermont natural history.
-Love of outdoor exploration and questioning; ability to model curiosity and wonder about the natural world.
-Ability to work well as part of a team.
-Excellent organizational and communication skills.
-Must have reliable transportation.
Preferred
Qualifications:
-Bachelor's degree in Environmental Studies, Education or related field preferred.
-Experience with animal tracking, wilderness living & survival skills (e.
g.
, fire and shelter-making).
-Singing and storytelling experience, as well as previous summer camp experience.
-Experience making crafts and art from natural materials.
