Job Description:
Each University of Vermont Medical Center Security Officer is assigned to a specific Campus.
The primary responsibilities of the Security Officer are to conduct patrol duties, respond immediately to emergency and non-emergency calls for assistance, and document services provided on each shift.
The Security Officer is expected to act in a courteous and professional manner at all times.
Note:
Emergency calls for assistance frequently require Security Officers to take the lead in controlling a violent/threatening situation after clinical and non-clinical staff have attempted to verbally deescalate a difficult situation.
Security intervention frequently requires detaining and/or restraining the violent patient, visitor, or staff member.
EDUCATION:
High School graduate or equivalent.
Valid driver's license and safe driving record.
Experience:
Prior security or public safety experience preferred, with an emphasis on providing a safe and dignified environment in stressful situations with a diverse patient, visitor and staff population.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
