Posting Summary Provides a variety of information and communication technology support services for UVM students, faculty, and staff and other affiliates.
Test, install, configure and optimize network hardware and software.
Research problems and implement solutions for general and specialized software and networking needs; and help clients learn about information technology through in person or written instruction.
May specialize in one or more areas, such as networking, a productivity software suite, an operating system, mobile devices, multimedia and specialized or advanced applications.
Provide service coordination for the IT needs of students, faculty, staff, and users of classrooms, conference rooms and computer labs.
May perform work in office or at client sites, by telephone, through electronic communication, and as needed, in high-volume settings such as the Computer Clinic and Help Line.
Minimum Qualifications (or equivalent combination of education and experience) Bachelor's degree in a technology related field and two years of related experience to include support experience with common workstation, server, and host applications (e.
g.
, electronic mail, word processing, spreadsheets, databases, internet) and operating systems (e.
g.
, Windows, Macintosh) in an Internet-connected networked environment; support experience with client network configuration using protocols in use at UVM; and experience with network and information systems security knowledge and practical application experience required.
Effective customer service focus, verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills, including ability to work successfully with technical and nontechnical personnel, required.
Effective organizational and time management skills required.
Ability to determine appropriate support priorities.
