Sample Control Technician I - Burlington

Operations include a nationwide network of 29 environmental testing laboratories and 42 service centers. TestAmerica provides innovative technical expertise and comprehensive analytical testing services. We are currently looking for a First Shift (Tuesday-Saturday 10:00am-6:30pm) Sample Control Technician.
The Sample Control Technician logs and tracks the receipt and shipment of all samples into and out of the laboratory. Determines the priority level and appropriate testing procedures of samples according to Chain of Custody, labels and stores samples appropriately. Assists in preparing bottle kits for delivery to clients to gather samples.
### Job Responsibilities
1. Receives and unloads incoming samples or consignments in accordance with
DOT regulations and verifies receipt against Chain of Custody (COC), matches it to the
corresponding quote and notes discrepancies daily.
2. Logs samples into Lab Management System daily to assign a lot number for tracking purposes and
distributes paperwork to Project Managers and Department Managers.
3. Labels samples so they may be identified by the lot number assigned and delivers samples to
appropriate labs for analysis daily.
4. Prepares bottle kits daily to be shipped to clients to collect samples and return for analysis
in accordance with EPA requirements.
5. Forwards samples to other laboratories in accordance with DOT regulations as needed to run
tests that are not performed at that location.
6. Disposes of samples in accordance with DOT regulations that have been run and reports that have
been forwarded to clients to provide shelf space for incoming samples daily.
7. Monitors freezer and cooler temperatures daily to confirm that the readings are within SOP
guidelines.
8. Cleans and organizes the department daily to promote a clean, safe work environment and
smoother flow of daily operations.
9. Schedules couriers for sample pickup from customer sites to facilitate flow of samples into
laboratory.
### Job Requirements
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent
Licensure/Certificate/Registration:
Department of Transportation (DOT) Certificate is required for shipping hazardous chemicals within 90 days of date of hire. Valid state issued driver''s license to drive company vehicles
