Education:
Master''s level degree in Social Work or closely related behavioral science field from an accredited college or university

Experience:
Coursework and professional experience that indicates knowledge of mental health counseling, group and individual psychotherapy, assessment and treatment of major mental disorders, crisis intervention, and mental health consultation.
Experience working in institutional settings and/or with criminal justice populations/ traumatized women with co-occurring disorders preferred but not required
Licenses and Certifications:
Currently licensed as a Master''s Social Worker or Specialist Clinical Social Worker with the appropriate State Regulatory Board(LCSW). Must be able to obtain and maintain CPR certification. Willingness to work toward achieving Certified Correctional Mental Health Professional (CCMHP) designation, National Commission on Correctional Health Care (NCCHC) certification (General or Mental Health) or other professional certification.
Job Description:
Job Purpose:
Provision of a wide variety of direct clinical behavioral health services to a diverse population of women residing in a correctional facility
Provision of case consultation to facility health services unit personnel
Serve as a contributing member of the Health Services Unit team and the facility-wide multidisciplinary team
Serve as an interface between the community and the correctional facility
Flexible hours are available and may be required

Essential Functions:
Provision of direct behavioral health clinical services to female inmates
Provision of individual therapeutic counseling
Provision of psycho-educational groups
Education and support programming for individuals and groups
Provision of consultative services to site or statewide reentry planning team
Active participation in HSU and facility-wide/multidisciplinary treatment teams
Patient navigation from intake to release/reentry
Assist patients through individual counseling and group educational activities to develop strength based approaches to problem solving
Advocacy for patients in obtaining necessary resources to assist then in achieving realistic goals
Provide outreach and service coordination for patients reentering the community
Submission of statistical and other reports as requested by the HSA or DBH
Application of principles of critical thinking to a variety of situations
Identification of inmates with co-occurring disorders and referral to appropriate onsite or community resources as needed for assessment and treatment
Assist patients in adjustment to incarceration through a combination of orientation processes using individual didactic and educational group work
Responsible to maintain confidentiality of inmate information in accordance with State law, the Facility/Unit policy, and the standards of the National Association of Social Workers, the National Commission on Correctional Health Care and the American Correctional Association
Maintain accountability for services provided through appropriate documentation and participation in Quality Improvement Program
Must be able to apply principles of critical thinking to a variety of practical and emergent situations and accurately follow standardized procedures that may call for deviations.
